Exercise outfits

It's been a struggle to find exercise clothes that don't cost a fortune.  I've been wearing 4x shirts and shorts that barely stay up and it's time to say good-bye.  I wanted to find something that I wouldn't be embarrassed to wear out in public during my 5k.  Today I found some pretty inexpensive clothes and bought it even if it wasn't particularly in my size.

When I got home I squeezed my rolls and my huge chesticles into this shirt.  I felt like a stuffed sausage, but I love how my boobs aren't bouncing all over the place.  These babies are dangerous and can give black eyes if I'm not careful.

I had Oldest take a picture of me in my spiffy new outfit thinking that it wouldn't be that bad.  (Have you ever noticed that what you see in the mirror is totally different in a picture?)

All I can say is HELL TO THE NO!!!  I will not be wearing this in public for fear of scaring all the precious children away.  That massive roll scares me and it's on my body!  One of these days I will be able to wear this without fear of others laughing and pointing as I pass.

Oh girl, you crack me up! "scaring all the precious children away." Too funny!
And I completly understand. I have GOT to be comfortable in my workout clothes, and it is soooo hard to find cute, affordable, plus size workout clothes...Boo on the clothing manufacturer's.
p.s. I look forward to your future blog, when you are rockin' that same outfit...and feelin' good in it!

Gotta keep the girls in place, FM. And you've got to wear something that will not chafe - that can make you miserable and make for a loonng 5 miles. So glad to hear that you're getting some new duds. Wish I was walking with you!

You're too funny...boobsicles. Nothing wrong with the pants. I personally (and by the sounds of it so do you) like loose T-shirts when exercising. Always have...even when I was smaller.

Ellen - I wish you were walking with me too!

I personally prefer the tighter tops while working out- keeps all my stuff from bouncing around!! If you're uncomfortable, maybe wear a top over it? Would still keep everything in place AND you'd feel less self-conscious? Love clothes shopping!

I know exactly what you mean about the mirror...what is it about a camera that makes us all look bigger?

I'm in the boat with ya girlfriend...When I go exercise in public I wear my workout pants with a big ass t-shirt that comes down to cover my ass...The neighbors are probably looking out their windows thinking...."dang, she looks thrown away" ha...oh well, who cares...;) have a great day!

It's funny how we always look worse to ourselves than to others!

No wonder I liked the pants :)

You know, I always put on my compression pants and shirts and feel like a stuffed sausage. I love the feel of them, so I always end up tossing a loose shirt and pants over top to hide the scary stuff but keep myself feeling comfortable.

Good luck on your 5k.

I am SO happy for you and PROUD of you for working out! Just discovered your blog and I love it!
Workout clothes for larger sizes are so dang hard to find! I agree! But... someday I will be in "regular" sizes! Keep going!
Have a pretty day!

I found a bunch of workout clothes at walmart last year. I am still wearing them. I know what you mean about the mirror showing something different than a picture. I have also found that if I buy black tops, or ones with prints it kind of hides my rolls :)

Oh, and I say regardless of what you wear to workout it is so awesome that you are working out! It really makes a difference.

I got shirts from target - in the mens section. Not the most girly or goregous of workout clothes, but they have...eh...worked out rather nicely ;) I get the stay dry or whatever it's called...that really thin stuff that is not cotton and feels kinda slippery. Not the mesh....you know what I mean. I love that they don't absorb sweat and get all heavy. I have a 2 of those in different colors (blue and black) that I pair with either sweats (winter) or these dark grey workout capri things. Works great. I started out with mens xxl and I am about ready to graduate to xl ;). I have a womens XXL (that is not to say 2xl, those are 2 different things) and that one doesn't fit me. I look like Winnie the Pooh in it. So saving that one for later I guess.
