The proof is in the picture

Saturday night the hubby and I went to a bbq at a friends house.  We ate Jason's Deli before going so that I wouldn't stuff my face with hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, dip, potato salad, all that yummy bbq deliciousness.  Also, I decided before we left that I wouldn't drink any alcohol.  My main goal was to stay accountable during the night.  I allowed myself to "snack", but to keep it within moderation.

When we arrived, everyone commented on my weight loss and how committed I seemed.  They asked how I was losing, what was I doing, how did I feel, etc.  Honestly, the comments made me uncomfortable.  I don't see the weight loss.  How much of a difference can 16 pounds really make?

My best friend (who is also on this crazy weight loss journey) was there; I swear she has a camera glued to her hand on a 24 hour basis.  She took several pictures during the night.  As I scrolled through them this morning I was amazed and flabbergasted.  For the first time in 8 weeks I see the difference.

I see a difference as well, looking good. You will always be the last one to "see" it, you'll know it and feel it, but seeing it will never come easy, at least it doesn't to me.

I hear you on the "only 16lbs", but when you are exercising more regularly you are also toning which makes a huge difference on "how it all hangs". Way to go! It's so hard. Also thanks for sharing your story with blogland, you are an inspiration for me:)

Nice pictures and kudos on no alcohol. Have you measured yourself? I know from putting on some pants that my waist is smaller- I'm going to measure later today.

Psst - I got rid of my com virus!! (and there was much rejoicing)

I couldn't have done it without this site:

BTW, I made a blog post where I volunteered 13 things about myself... I'd love it if you'd do a post like that on your blog too!

Have a great day!

So now, you need to look at these photos anytime you get discouraged because there's nothing like solid, physical proof that you're moving in the right direction. Glad you are seeing it now, too!!

Oh WOW, isn't it AWESOME when you (and others) can start seeing the difference? Congratulations and BOOYAH!

In my experience, it starts to show from about 10 lbs loss ... always a good motivator in my books.
